What is making this filly mostly white and why?
  • Title says it all. All I could think is w20 and kit M interacting weirdly. I don't know a whole lot about w20 but I have an inkling it's that. Does anybody know why?

  • might be the prl/cr and silver interacting with kit but I'd think the DP and sty would offset that
    Licensed for:
    All Axiom
    Ice: 9, 13, 15-19
    RR: wt, PBC, PBW, Nac
PHAN: dmsp, lace, sku, hrt, shm, jelly, pmk, bird, crit sun star.
Other: everything but SPM and jewel
  • The W20, M and splash could have something to do with it. It seems like the more colors in the name, the bigger chance the horse will just look white! I don't know if they overlap, or what, but it's a thing I've noticed.

  • The double dilute base already makes her very light colored. Add double kit, double KP, and possibly whatever effects that Rainbow Riot gene has (I don’t know much about licensed genes), and that’s probably what’s causing all the white.
I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me!
  • Oh, wait! This is a Shrine filly! I have a quite a few of his foals and he tends to produce either really dark or really light, so combining his genes with the mother’s white and fantasy genes is probably what’s causing it.

  • what really confuses me is that she has light wh factor.

  • @Nightphoenix I definitely dabble a bit in double dilutes but I've never had one so white! Maybe that is that case after all. The rainbow riot is what made her pink in color!

I think you're all right, I think it's the double dilution she has on top of the silver with a combination of the kp/kp2 causing their usually 'frosty' pattern and the splash m/kit m is just enough to cover most of her of her body. It just happens to overlap in a way she looks mostly white.

On first glance it looked like how sabino interacts with w20 (it turns horses mostly white I've noticed) but I took a closer look and it seems like she has very pale coloring on her rump and shoulders.

    Thanks guys!

Edit: @boredaf that's what confused me too! And what prompted me to make this post lol!

Edit edit: @Nightphoenix that must be the case then! She's just very diluted!

  • White factor does not overwrite any genes and does not shrink markings. It just amps up what you already have.

  • Also she expressing KP which might be a big patch on her. I find my KP horses will occasionally get one big KP spot that covers their back. You can reroll her and see different expressions.

  • @Ammit that's why I was so confused at first, I saw her light wf and was thinking why is she so, so white? You said that better than I could have.

@Humboldt that's that 'frosty' look I was talking about and I think that's what it is. I might try rerolling her like you said.

Edit: I did reroll her a few times and it is indeed the kp/kp2 giving her a blanket of white. I saved a few different expressions of the kp on her coat but I can't seem to figure out of to attach photos.
