I'm not sure if this is in the right forum so please tell me if it's not, but I have this lovely pointed 'Catch a Blue Moon' 4yr old Warmblood mare I made today (image below), forgetting that I breed Cobs on this account, so I was wondering if I could get any advice on how much I should sell her for.

My base price for selling is 1/2 of the Total cash earned, in her case is 12k. Then being a special herd helper at a decent PT and paper score, that is worth a little more. I would put her at 10k. but you can try 12k it isnt outside of her worth. Depending on how soon you want to sell her. It would be better to breed her to a good stud to see how well she does.. imo.

A side note many people buying rank special horses would like the option to GMT the horse, so are looking for horses that are not bred. Not everyone cares, but I almost always buy a horse that has never been bred over one who has. I like keeping my options open.

How I judge a RS horses worth is I look and see what range of prices a horse is listed for. I usually take off the highest and lowest prices and do something in the middle. The exception is if over 3 horses are listed at a super low price than you know that is what the horse is probably worth. Pointed creates go of 1/3 to 1/2 their lifetime payout. If you want the horses to sell quickly go with 1/3 if not 1/2, that is a personal decision.
