Hello, my name is steelmagghia/magghia and I have a pixel pony addiction.

Honestly, y'all, I really struggle to not keep every pony I make or breed, haha. I keep looking at my barn space and trying to calculate how I can rework the organization so I can keep more ponies but still have some clue as to where they all are. I feel like I need an intervention!

I hear you… I’ve gotten to where I’m buying a whole new 210 stall barn per season just to hold all the show ponies I breed. :)) I keep pretty much everything I breed across 2 defined “lines” and one group of “whatever” horses, so it adds up!

Hahaha! I am about to get there, I swear. I have to keep talking myself into selling the ones that I know are not part of my lines but are too pretty to geld/spay. But it is hard! At least I know I'm not alone!

I am not qualified to hold an intervention, sorry. I have the biggest pixel pony hoarding problem of them all. I'm still living in the Hope there will be a search update of a checkbox for "show only leveled off" horses so I can sort only leveled off horses by points this year to cull faster lol.

@boredaf Yeah, the problem is that I am unable to commit to any less than three main lines, lol. And I also have the WORST collector habit. I need ALL THE THINGS! Terrible.

I breed "whatever" but my sire lines need to have certain LE genes that their founding stallions started off with, plus meet several criteria such as papering at the appropriate levels and having appropriate AFPTs for their respective generations.

@steelmagghia, my suggestion is to go to other players main stable page and see how they organize their barns. Some folks are very hands on, and others are more laid back, but you can really tell how they organize their herds by checking out some of the barn names.

@boredaf yes! If I never look at them I can't want them!

@Forestshadow I clearly need to get better at giving myself limits. I tell myself I only want champagnes, silvers, and satins, but I find so many that I think would look good once I breed those traits into their lines and that does not help things.

@ConfluenceStable that's a brilliant idea, though I definitely think I'll still need more large barns no matter what. I wish I could combine barns actually as I have a few smaller ones that I now wish were one big one.

I just bought a dfp1 mare and I don't know why.

I use my 15 stall for breeding foals.

When I need space, I do what I call a genetic similarity cull. For example, say I have two liver chestnut mares. The first mare is hom DP, but the second mare is hom DP and het appaloosa, so I keep the second mare because she has an extra gene that I want and then I cull the first mare! It really helps :)

@magghia, Whatever you do, do NOT let it get to the point where you stress out on how many horses you have/breed. The LAST thing the game should be is WORK! ~X( On my main account (on the Forest server) I have 4 1000 stall barns for show horses. At the moment only 3 are full and I get over 350,000HBs showing bonus. I don't fuss with my show horses. I only allow myself 1 10 space pasture for each generation. It was getting to be more work than play when I had 60-100 space pastures, so I sold them back to the game to fund my big barns. I have much more fun with the smaller pastures, and holding 3-5 mares back in the barn for 'hand' breeding every 5 days (creating embryos).

Another vote for the gene similarity cull but that only works if your breeding for variation like my nexus line if you're breeding a color line you probably want more similarity not less.

That's one reason why I breed for "whatever" - I like to see what I get since I pasture breed.
Yeah. I have 1 100 horse pasture for every generation. A lot of my barns are actually for show horses, I'm working on converting my old 120 stall barns into 210 stall barns since that means an extra 90 show horses. My showing bonus payout is 290,000 now.

Yeah, I want to get a really big barn for show horses because I am running out of room for showies.

The biggest problem right now is all of these delightful rank specials for June are giving me more horses I want to breed that I definitely should not be keeping but I love too much, haha.
