I extensively tested my second gens today after neglecting them for a few months. I cut over 50% of my herd for testing 'worse than' my Colt benchmark.

A little sad that I am left with just 39 mares, but also happy that I know the quality of my overall line has improved so much.

Will repeat again tomorrow with 3rd Gens! :))

Now I also need to find more barns to house all of these new spays.

2nd Gen: 39 Mares/3 Stallions
3rd Gen: 13 Mares/X Stallions

I always try and do my testing as soon as possible, that way I hope not to get too attached to any pretty ones! :)

I did a fairly small cull last week. I probably need to start over from 2G but I also currently don't want to, because of that reason. :))

I always try to do all the tests Before I look at any of them ; other wise it will be well he is SO cute or she is so pretty and I dont want to cull them lol ; I think we all think like that

That's definitely my thinking @annismyrph but been so caught up in work for the last couple of months I've barely managed to breed and move them out of the pastures. I culled the majority of my 3rd Gen studs now and am realising my colours are not quite what I wanted... :-(

I may be over culling as well as once my studs improve I go back and cull all the mares as well, so my last mares were all at least Blue's, but now they are all superior to the last culls Blue papered so closer to *Gold. Fingers crossed it's worth it, although I am unsure if it's possible to get a *Gold paper at 3rd gen without a lot of boosting but at least my 4th Gen should now be more consistent in throwing the top paper.

What I do after running foals through SBA, PT, BT and genetic testing is load the pages and click on the control panel tab, compare test to parent, and geld if not superior. Then I wait for the image to finish loading so I can look and go "Oh bummer"

It's always a bitter sweet moment to look through the spayed/gelded horses at the end of the month to see what you missed out on :))
