Excited but yet... not
-
Tomorrow I start my new job. While I am excited about going back to work and getting off SSI, at the same time I am not excited about it. I'll have to do my own insurance plan shopping, and I'll have to do my own financial planning and investing.
Also, I will have to wake up at 4 am which is difficult for a night owl. I've been working on adjusting my sleeping schedule but it's been a very rough transition. My brain knows it needs to be done, my body is rebelling.
This week is going to be so .... interesting. -
Good luck in your new job :x I'm sure it will get easier to get up that early when you get into a routine. But 4 is r.o.u.g.h. I thought I had it bad, as we get up at 5.30.ID 195859

I'm a massive nightowl and when I had to that I'd usually sleep after work 10am to whenever I woke up and then cat nap again for a few hours before shift. It was a physically intensive job though so I had np sleeping when I got home, might be harder if it's a more mellow arrangement.Licensed for:

Yeah, I had to go from 2 am bedtime to 4 am wake up.
I'm doing better than I expected on that aspect.
However, I am quite body sore. Lots of walking and movement.
My feet are having a MAJOR hissy fit.
Work requires non slip and water resistant shoes.
Problem is.... I have high arches so I can't wear just any shoes. I do have inserts from my podiatrist, but they aren't up to the job.
He actually wanted me to get custom made full foot length inserts, but alas, Medicaid doesn't cover that, and I sure didn't have the money to shell out for a pair of those.
So suggestions are welcome. -
can you get those cushion soles and put the Podiatrists inserts on top of them?
-
I tried Dr Schnoll's and nope, didn't do the job. Feet were still screaming bloody murder.
At least my boss let me eat lunch in her office so I could take my shoes off and put my feet up on a table
Feels like I need a lot of cushioning. Inserts are hard.Post edited by Forestshadow at 2021-08-20 13:36:38
