HH create not aligning with description
-
I am not upset about this at all but it seems like maybe the coding for the clean slate HH is not quite right. I believe in the description it states that horses will be homozygous recessive bay and one of my creates is a bay dun:
CS New Beginnings
Again, NOT disappointed (thanks for this super fun week of HH!) but I thought I might bring it to your attention.Post edited by Ammit at 2021-08-29 05:39:50 -
I don’t think this is a bug- I think it’s due to your horse’s chimerism!
Basically the way chimera creates work is one set of DNA is generated based on the Herd Helper’s parameters. Then for the second set of DNA, the game takes the first set it created and changes one random allele. The two sets of DNA are then merged together to create the horse. The second set of DNA does not have to be exactly what the herd helper specifies.
On your chimera, you can see that DNA set one is Grullo, which is the dun gene acting on a black base- the black base is caused by the two recessive a/a alleles (combined with having at least one E). On the second set of DNA, you can see that one of the little a alleles was changed to a big A, which, since A is dominant over a (aka bay is dominant over black) changes your horse’s second dna to a bay base- and thus a bay dun, since nothing else changed.
So it makes for a really cool chimera, but no bug! I’ve got a clean slate stallion that had a similar thing happen:
FNDC New Year Advantage
He’s grullo on the first set of DNA like the herd helper specifies, but brown dun on the second since one of his little a’s got changed to t, which codes for brown and is dominant over black (a).
(Please forgive me if this explanation is way too rambling, I am up… way later than I should be and my brain is kinda running in circles.)Post edited by erisna at 2021-08-29 00:08:48I mostly play on mobile so I can't usually see signatures!

Your horse is a Grullo Sabino Splash Tobiano. The SECOND set of DNA that you get as a bonus and that will always have one mutation is a Bay Dun Sabino Splash Tobiano. They got bay this time but could have gotten any number of other genes. That is how these are supposed to work. :)Post edited by Ammit at 2021-08-29 05:41:08Need to contact me? Read this first.

Basically the second strand doesn’t like to follow the rules. I have a mare that’s hom W1 on her second strand, which would be lethal to most horses :)I’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me!

Ohhhh, that makes sense! My apologies, I thought both sets of genes needed to follow the outlined description. I know rs horses can have combinations that are lethal in other horses. I think she's super cool and I'm jazzed about her :)
