How did another user breed my mare?
-
One of my mares, Portals, got bred by another user. Luckily, I wasn't planning on breeding her this month, but I was also EXTREMELY displeased. What setting allowed this to happen so I can undo it?
-
When breeding season opens, you will see a box on the horse's control panel that says something like 'put horse up for public breeding'. Make sure the number listed in that box is 0. Sometimes when you purchase a horse either on the public sales board or in the auction, the original owner may have them listed for public breeding. This can apply to both mares and stallions, so be sure to check any horses you buy so you can take them off the breeding boards!Specializing high quality dark horses with lots of chrome.

Also, posting a link to the horse will help alot in trying to figure things out :)

The only way for someone to breed to your mare is if she was up for public brood.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

@watchword ; if you go back through your transactions ( on the member home page ) you can see if you got "paid" for her ; if so on Monday double check to make sure the game took her off public brood ( though there might still be a price there ) and re set it to 0 so it can't mistakenly happen again :)

@annismyrph @ammit where is the "public brood" option? It's not on the horse's control panel!
-
I'm equally concerned because this isn't the only horse I bought, so I am not sure how to check whether or not they're up for breeding!
-
Breeding season is over until Nov 2nd, so the box will not be there right now.
It will be next to the place the horse for sale box, it looks similar.
-
Double check that you're filling out the right box. On Forest I accidentally sold a star papered stud for 1/10 of what I bought him for because I filled out the sale box by accident. :-((

I used to fill in the "era" box for "age" when doing searching All.The.TimeThanked by 1ConfluenceStable

I also noticed you bought that mare on 10/17 so the person you bought her from could have had the brood amount set for the month and it stayed set after you bought her, so someone eventually found her on the search and bred her. It shouldn't be an issue going forward!
