It requires two copies to show and will turn ee horses completely white

The most common and popular phenotypes I typically see are chinchilla on silver blacks and on browns. The silver blacks get really dark and dynamic and the browns get completely unique "white markings" when the chinchilla washes away the red areas on a brown. I think the brown chinchilla is especially nice with sooty+ because of the dappled edge.

And another favorite of mine is classic champagne chinchilla with reverse dapples, but I don't see it nearly as often. I think that's because it's a little harder to get as it seems the reverse dapples are random and you just have to reroll the portrait until you get them:

Anyway, those are just some typical base coats I've noticed tend to work very well with chinchilla and create some unusual phenotypes that you can't really get any other way.

Me too. :) As soon as my chinchilla boy is all gmt'd I'm hittin' the foundation rescue for some classic champagne mares. ;)
