I'm attempting to send a horse to my giftee. But this popped up:
License Transfer
When you gift a foundation horse one copy of each gene license associated with this horse will transfer to your recipient.
You own 1 licenses for Mushroom, and will transfer one license to your recipient.
Warning: This is your last license for this gene. You will lose your access to this gene once gifted.
You own 1 licenses for HMGA2 Height Regulator, and will transfer one license to your recipient.
Warning: This is your last license for this gene. You will lose your access to this gene once gifted.

I have other foundations with Height Regulator and Mushroom, so would sending this foundie over mean I lost my licenses for those genes?

Yes, it is specifically telling you you WILL lose these licenses. It will do exactly what it says. You must have only ever purchased one copy of these. Buying foundations from other people does not grant you additional liscenes.

The only thing is that the horse I'm trying to give was one I did not RGS edit. I purchased it in auction with the RGS edits already completed. But I do have the horses that I originally got the licenses on. So basically this horse isn't even the horse I got the licenses from, and yet it is saying I will lose the licenses. And I still have the horses I originally got the licenses on. I think I'm confusing myself. Sorry if I'm just not making sense!

Buying a horse at auction does not create a license. You did not receive a new license when you purchased that horse. The license that was purchased with that horse still belongs to the person who purchased the license. You can not gift the license because you don't own the one that was created with that horse.

Looking at your account It looks like you purchased your copies of those licenses in the GMT lab. Is that correct? How many times did you personally buy the genes from the lab? I am trying to determine how many copies of the license you should own. :)

I purchased Height Regulator once in the GMT lab. Mushroom was gifted to me by another player VIA RGS. So it looks like I only own 1 copy of each. So I guess if I gift the horse I really would just lose the licenses. I think that clears things up, thank you! :)

Yup, then the above is correct. You can only gift someone a gene license that you own. Since you only own one copy gifting that horse would gift them your license. Now if they already own both those licenses you can just gift them the horse via an elf or in the open exchange week instead of through the exchange. You just can't give someone who never paid into the license the ability to own it if you have not paid for their copy.

Unfortuanetly my giftee does not own the licenses, so it will be best for me to purchase the license a second time to gift them the license.
