Brindle vs. Chimera? - Resolved
-
I received this adorable guy from my gifter and was wondering what makes him a brindle vs. being a chimera
kG1B Silver Bells
All the other horses I've been still brindle have been older and weren't converted during the change to chimera.
Thanks everyone!Post edited by kgstable at 2021-12-29 12:05:25Licenses: Watercolor, Nacre, Splash M, Wrong Warp, Phantom Autumn/Lace/Diamond Sparkle/Web/Hearts/Shamrock/Muddy Puddles/Roses/Critter Tracks/Jellyfish/Birdtracks, Paintbrush Cool, Paintbrush Prism, Plaid, Shatterglass, Inkspot, Toner, Mushroom, DFP2, Onyx, Platinum, Ice 6, Ice 17Thanked by 1Xzeina -
Dumb question of the week # 147035
What's the difference between chimera and brindle?Thanked by 1Xzeina -
That is weird. I see he's a University bred horse. Was he merged from two foundations to make a chimera? I've never done that before so I don't know if the game maybe doesn't automatically update merged chimeras to the new type yet, but it seems like it should.Thanked by 1Xzeina

Does the option to update him to the new chimera type show on his page?
-
Is it possible for him to be a clone of a much older horse that was still brindle and never converted?
Thanked by 1Xzeina -
That makes more sense, because it looks like DFP1 wasn't gmt'd onto him, so it must have been inherited from the original horse, if that's a gene that can clone, that is.
-
I'm not sure who he was cloned from, he was a gift through the exchange. My guess would've been what Blaze said, a older horse he was converted to.
@Kintara so all HOM DFP1 horses are going to be Brindle? -

Holy hom DFP, Batman! How did I not realize this before now? :-OI’m autistic and I struggle with any kind of communication, so I apologize in advance if I say anything rude or offensive because there’s a 99% chance that I have no clue I did it. I appreciate your patience with me! -
I know, right?! I did a search last night too and was shocked. I had always heard that DFP would give "brindle-like" markings. I had no idea they were actually called brindles in the color name.Thanked by 1Nightphoenix

Chimerism does not clone. This horse is a genetic brindle.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )
