People who have had covid: what do I do now? *answered*

I had to take another covid test today and it came back negative, but I still feel sick and am still having symptoms. What do I do now?Post edited by Xzeina at 2022-01-02 11:22:04

I would call your local health department tomorrow and ask them what is the best protocol to follow.

My sister had symptoms for months after Covid, but every test was negative. I hardly had any symptoms but I had the first dose of the vaccine in my system when I caught it.
You could always get retested but keep in mind recovery could take a long time, unfortunately. :(Thanked by 1Xzeina -
I have honestly heard that ivermectin is very helpful for lingering symptoms, you just need to find a pharmacy that will fill it. Personally when I had it I just took tylenol and clariten every night. Hot steamy showers/baths, and ran the humidifier at night. I had very mild (but annoying) symptoms so I can't tell you if my way would really help you, but it's what I did.
If you're not testing positive after you've felt ill you're not contagious, just do what you can and don't push yourself but if you're after 5 days of symptoms you aren't a risk to others (according to the CDC). The current rapid tests they use are only "effective" for up to 7 days after your symptoms start, it's likely you've had the covid for more than 7 days from when you were tested and it's just hit its stride now. I had a sore throat for 4 days before I got hit with the no taste, runny nose, headache, ick truck.Thanked by 1Xzeina
