My guess is that the horse had two days in pasture accumulated when it was gmt'd to a stallion, and after that the game just never checks stallions to see if they're not in pasture and if the DIP should be reset because they ordinarily wouldn't accumulate any. Running that code on all stallions would be expensive just to catch the handful of horses that fall in this category. Probably the better fix would be to have code that resets the DIP whenever a mare is gmt'd to a stallion.
