    Some people use Adobe Photoshop . I just use free apps on the Internet. Works just as good.

    paint.net - it's a free program and easier to use than photoshop or gimp (gimp is the free version of photoshop, pretty much the best free art program I've found)
    I also usually have it in MS Paint at one point or another for things I don't know how to do in the other programs.
