Understanding the costs of the breeding lab
-
I have only used a few straws so far, so i'm trying to talk out all of the costs of using the breeding lab.
To make eggs, I can either pay $30k for 8-14 eggs (and the mare is "done" or the year), or $3k for one egg (does the mare still breed that year?).
Then I have the choice of using a straw to make and embryo and put it in a mare for $5k.
or
Make a test tube embryo for $2k, and later implant it into a mare for $4k.
I assume the second option is only useful if I bought an embryo, vs "home" breeding?
So for an example, I mass collect eggs, get 10, so that's $3k an egg. Then I want to turn around and implant them in mares for $5k, so all in all, it's cost me $80k to make 10 foals from that mare (plus whatever it cost me to make/buy the straws?).
Does that sound right? -
Yes, this sounds about right.
If you are collecting a single egg (or pulling a single embryo) from a mare, you can repeat the process again five days later. Some players will do that until the end of the season and then do a mass egg flush on the last day- personally I don’t have the patience lol. -
@Wolvevenfrost you might find this helpful also :)Post edited by annismyrph at 2022-02-03 02:38:17
