Payout question:)
  • Okay so I don't think I'm understanding this, copying one from a horse I own to explain. But I need someone to tell me what each means. Obviously points are from shows and that's why it's "0" as she hasn't shown this year but what are the rest and what do they do?

    Points this year: 0.0
    Total earnings: 21 hb's
    Total points: 370
    Daily Payout: 40 hb's
    Current Lifetime Payout: 16240 hb's

    Thanks :)
  • This is how I understand these statistics, but I might be mistaken about it, even after playing the game since 2011.

Points this year: points added to date during the current real-life month. Each real-life month = 1 game year.

Total earnings: Prize money from the horse's cash winnings in all the shows it has placed higher than last.

Total points: The number of points the horse has added to its record to date during the current game year. The number of points awarded in each show is determined by where a horse places--higher placement equals higher points.

Daily Payout: the number of hajibucks the horse adds to your showing bonus based on the number of points it has added to your record to date.

Current Lifetime Payout: (This is the one I'm shakiest on.) It is related to a horse's potential earnings if sent to the auction once it passes a certain age. Perhaps someone who pays more attention to this statistic than I do can explain it more fully. If I'm remembering correctly, it allows a player to auction older horses, past breeding age, who consistently place near the bottom of their classes, without majorly impacting the stable's income.

I've sent a "help" message to ConfluencStable, asking if she can clarify my answers where needed.

  • I think you're right SandyCreek, only two modifications I'd suggest is that:

Total points includes points not just during the current game year (real life month), but all the points the horse has accumulated over its lifespan from placing in shows.

Current Lifetime Payout and Daily Payout I believe are both based on the Total Points. The higher the Total Points, the more hbs your horse gives you each day (Daily Payout). I believe that the Lifetime Payout assumes that the horse gains no more points and multiplies its Daily Payout based on its minimum lifespan (I think 18 years old?).

You can indeed auction a horse 10 or older for a minimum of its Lifetime Payout, unlike younger horses which are auctioned for a minimum of 2500. It can therefore be useful to auction horses that aren't gaining many new points after they are 10 to get a higher price than normal in the auction.

  • From what I understand ; Lifetime Payout is given when a horse is 10 and auctioned ; it slowly Decreases as the horse ages until they "age out" of the game
