Percentage of foals that pass SBA?
-
I just bred 16 third gen, evenly bred mares to my 3rd gen even bred 5% boosted stallion. All have passed SBA themselves and have also tested superior.
I had a handful of foals pass BA, but only 1 that passed SBA.
I'm just curious if anyone knows the approximate percentage of foals that "should" pass SBA. -
did you Pasture breed or hand breed? Pasture bred mares give a bonus to the foals ; a little "boost" if you will ... are they evenly papered? Blue to an A? and dont forget ; SBA means the foal has to be better than both parents, a "boosted" stud is going to be a harder pass than a non boosted one ; even if they are evenly papered becuase he might be a High A almost Star, while the foal is a low A or Mid A and then wont pass SBA

Also the higher you go in ability the less random it is so the harder it is to get a foal to pass.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Two things:
He is a star, and I bred him to all blue mares, so no, none were evenly papered. Totally forgot about that aspect. *facepalm*
I don't think I knew that to pass SBA meant that the foal had to be better than its parents. What is the purpose of the comparison testing then? -
So essentially you could use either or depending on your premium membership?
Or maybe another way to think about it is that SBA is free (right?) and even as a premium you're going to lose $4k comparison testing? But the perk would be that you don't lose your breeder if they are only as good as the parents?
So if something passes SBA, there's no point in doing comparison testing, because you know it will be superior? -
Foals that pass SBA won't be worse than their parents, but they might not be better than them either. They pass SBA if they're about as good as or better than their parents. That's what comp testing is for - to weed out the ones that are about as good from the ones that are superior.Post edited by StarsetRoyale at 2022-03-03 11:54:01Player ID #250257, She/Her

And don't forget that some of the Advanced Breeding Labs features also give a smallish breeding bonus, like the pastures (but not as much as the pasture)Post edited by ConfluenceStable at 2022-03-03 16:22:35

I thought I read quite some time ago that the lab gives equivalent of about a 15 day bonus. Do you know if that's still the case?
In any case, the comments people are making about higher generation having a lower pass rate is very true. Once you start getting into very high breeding abilities it's harder to get a foal to pass at that same level, let alone be superior. -

That is incorrect information. They do not have to be better than their parents to pass.I thought I read quite some time ago that the lab gives equivalent of about a 15 day bonus. Do you know if that's still the case?

*Correction, Thank you Ammit ;

Strict Breeding Advice
SBA is available to players with a Premium Upgrade
While Breeding Advice (BA) will allow foals who are slightly worse than their parents to remain intact, Strict Breeding Advice requires that the foal be the same as, or better quality than both parents. Only the finest foals pass SBAThanked by 1lecobb8
