my small family recently relocated due to my husbands career (military) and i have been absolutely struggling in landing a job. after completely revamping my resume and linkedin (with help from a professional) and sending countless applications, i'm no closer than when we moved here 5 months ago. feeling completely naive in thinking it wouldn't take so long, being that i gained my bachelors in the summer and the town we moved to is twice the size of where we were. i'm trying to keep my head straight and i keep thinking the right one will come along, but seriously what the heck. all i need is a phone call, but the phone stays silent except for spam. we were so excited to get to this new place so that i could propel into something wonderful and i'm really losing hope when i know i need to keep trudging on. anyway, just thought to put it down would help clear my mind.

Hang in there and don't give up.
I my self are attempting to reenter the job market
I am 62 it's the most difficult thing to do go on an interview and being interviewed by a person that is the same age as my first child.
I have not lost hope. As I know there is something that will come for the both of us.
Please don't lose hope.

Don't give up! I just started a new part time job myself after looking for a few months. I am nowhere near ready for a full time job though. I have severe anxiety so finding a job that doesn't set me off is not easy for me. I recently just had a weeks worth of bad panic attacks over the thought of starting this new job and the worst of it was the day before and the hours right up to starting. BUT! I just finished day 2 and I love it so far! I am working in a small local feed and tack store, which is perfect for me :) I'm still trying to get my brain used to being gone for longer periods of time but it's going well so far. It's great since I have all my horsey knowledge (13ish years of riding and an associates degree in equine studies), as well as my knowledge on rabbits (been a breeder since 2015) and dogs (canine massage therapist), etc! Your perfect job will find you so keep looking!

Just hang in there. Last year I was able to find a job after not being employed for 10+ years due to real life stuff. I work at a federal courthouse under a special federal contract for disabled people (I'm deaf). Granted, there aren't many benefits, but I do get paid 20.46 an hour.

My main beef with the job is that it IS boring (not mentally simulating) but at the same time, it does allow my brain to work freely on my story... the problem is just remembering what ideas it came up with when I get home.

So I had SMS ( Single mom syndrome) I couldnt hang on to my thoughts for more than 5 minutes sometimes because I was multi tasking so hard ; I found if i sent myself a quick email that said "whatever xyz" it helped me stay focused and Not Forget Every Thing in 2 seconds flat

I know your feelings so well. I have done everything I was told I needed to do to get a job, and the jobs I envisioned just aren't there. I am seriously considering standing on the street with a sign: Lost work; don't want to lose car.
Like Forestshadow, I don't like boring work, and the kind of jobs my education sometimes got me were boring and repetitive, pushing me to the point of regret over my education (seriously, I think most college degrees, even in natural sciences, are scams). I'm looking as well and am afraid that I have nothing by way of useful advice for you.
