I have noticed that each time they move up a level, they show worse for a little bit. I have been told not to really harshly judge show scores until a horde is leveled off at least. :)

So how do you get horses who win ribbons if they're all good?

Some leaderboard categories are based on breeding ability and so aren’t related to how good the particular horse is at showing.

Top PT score just requires that your horse has the highest PT (usually in the 13s or 14s).

Top points earned can be varied. You usually need a horse that has levelled off in a World or National class who is regularly placing high. Partly this is luck, but you can look at your show results and try to find the ones who have landed in the best classes and try to get other horses of similar consistency and PT score. If you don’t have a premium upgrade it’s important to make sure you’re showing your horses twice a week for this one. Foundations and 2nd gen horses have their own categories so they likely have an easier time than 3rd or 4th gen.
