BR G5 Golden Girl

I've been working from the bottom (C/Yellow) up for quite a while now, and today I bred some G4s for the first time... 6 foals, two were snipped by BA, and the rest by me, other than this girl! I'm ecstatic. I'm only accepting stars and golds for this gen, so to get one on the first small round feels like a good start :) plus she's so darn cute

That's awesome! It's so exciting when you start seeing those first few stars and golds, and she's gorgeous to boot! I haven't started seeing gold or star in my non-bootstrap lines yet, so I'm really looking forward to it. \:D/

I remember when I bred my 1st Star and Gold at 4th gen. I was so excited. Like you, I breed up from C/Yellow for the most part with B/Red mixed in. However, I did make it a requirement to have only Star/Gold at 5th gen. 4th gen As and Blues were fine as long as they tested superior to their dams, since I comp test every generation.

I think mine was
G1: C/yellow creates
G2: B/red
G3: A/blue, or superior red if they had good genes and PT
G4: Superior a, blue
G5: Star and gold, if things play out well

Bootstrapping was fun lol, but once I got more established I'm glad I started something more structured! It's been even more fun
