    some herd helpers are very consistent, same genes, same paper level, same performance ratings. but some Herd Helpers have the occasional rare genes, while others never do. I've read the herd helper description, but it seems there is more to know. anyone?

    Herd Helpers usually have a specific set of color and/or pattern genes prescribed in their description, but genes that haven't been specified always have a chance of popping-up. It's part of what keeps this game so fascinating.

    You will also probably notice that the rarer the genes or the combination of genes are in real-life, the higher rank the herd helper has, and the fewer the number of created are available.
