First Star Colt!
-
Cue me screaming in joy lol! :)) About two or three months ago I got my first Gold filly, and her full brother is also a Star! I really didn't think I'd get that lucky twice, but it seems like this pair is very good! Now in theory, if i pulled eggs from their dam and straws from the sire, would the foals not be as good as a full 30 day pasture boost if I hand breed the embryos?

The IA breeding would have a 15day pasture bonus, so in theory no they might not be as good.
-
Oh no! Maybe I'll only pull one or two seasons of eggs from the mare then. Thank you!

That isn't really so. Horses born in pasture have the same maximum quality per pairing as horses born any other way. Pasture foals aren't better horses than those bred otherwise.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Oh okay, thank you Ammit for the clarification :) I'm so proud of her, seeing as she's giving me such great foals. I'd love to keep up this pairing, maybe experiment with a few other studs too.

OK but now I am confused, I thought mares with a 30day pasture bonus had better quality foals, they were more likely to pass BA / SBA , where as AI breeding only gave the 15day bonus and so were more likely to have foals that failed ba/sba?

The pasture bonus makes a mare more likely to produce foals at the higher end of her breeding ability. Whether she has the pasture bonus or not, she has the same range of breeding ability and thus the same range of quality she can give her foals. The pasture bonus just makes her more likely to produce on the higher end of her spectrum, rather than the lower end. It has something to do with probability. At least, that's what I've come to understand from reading in the forum.
