Can horses be altered when in the auction?
-
I could swear that I narrowed my search to only mares and stallions when I was making my initial search… but low and behold I have a barn full of geldings and spayed mares that I won in auction. Can sellers spay/geld after their horse is entered?
-
Yes I'm pretty sure they can be, although I'm not sure why anyone would unless it was just an error while doing mass spelds or something. They can also be bred while in auction and once I bought a candy horse with the GMT still intact and they pulled it off shortly before the auction end. Luckily the price was low or I would have been really upset - they often go for a high price during the auction.
You can message the seller and see if they are willing to unalter but it's not cheapStarstruck2 on Bluegrass and Forest

I would add that if it was different sellers you may have clicked the wrong box accidentally? I have done that a few times somehow. It seems unlikely that a bunch of people would geld mid-auctionStarstruck2 on Bluegrass and Forest

It was two different sellers, several mares from each. All fairly uncommon rank specials, all fairly expensive. I am almost 99.9% sure that I’d filtered out geldings and spays, and there was no reason that 8 and 9 year old altered horses with less than 25 points each would have drove the bidding that high. I’m pretty peeved… I just wasted half my bank roll, and several of those horses were intended for my gift exchange recipient.Post edited by BlessedByBrigid at 2022-06-19 18:26:11

@BlessedByBrigid I took a look at your barn because we were bidding on some of the same horses at one point and I know I got intact horses, but the only spelded horses I see from today's auction all went for $2750? Which makes more sense if they were already snipped. It would be really odd for two different people to do that but I suppose it is possible. Not sure why people are snipping their valuable rank specials in the first place but :-??Post edited by Starstruck2 at 2022-06-19 18:34:17Starstruck2 on Bluegrass and Forest

There really should be some kind of block that prevents people from being able to do stuff like that while the auction is running.

@Starstruck - I may be mistaken, I thought everything I’d bid on went for 4500+. I can’t check on it now because I already sold them back to the game so they wouldn’t be wasting barn space. I did have some spays and geldings that I’d bid on that were pointed, but I had found them in a separate search and I don’t think many of them were foundations.

I dont think you can alter a horse individually from thier page during auction ; you have to do it by the bulk barn box; it might be it was done accidentlyThanked by 1Ammit
