ISO: help building $$
-
I'm still fairly new to all fo this, hopefully someone can help me. I'm trying to build my $$ up so i can buy some iVs and then some GMTs and I'm having a difficult time. I have my barns on auto show and they don't seem to be doing too well. Can anyone help me out with building a designated show barn so I can make a bit more cash?
-
They aren't doing well because you haven't snipped them, your show string needs to be spay/neuteredLicensed for:
All Axiom
Ice: 9, 13, 15-19
RR: wt, PBC, PBW, Nac
PHAN: dmsp, lace, sku, hrt, shm, jelly, pmk, bird, crit sun star.
Other: everything but SPM and jewel -
I didn't know that. Is there anything else that would help?

If you look at the auctions, you can bid on pointed show horses to help build up your show herd. There's also a technique called bootstrapping that lets you breed your own unstoppable force of show ponies, but I'm super brand new to bootstrapping, so I'm not the person to ask about that. Also there are several Rank Special herd helpers this month that people will pay a pretty penny for, which is nice for quick influxes of cashFormerly OscarWildin

I didn't know people bought the new herd helpers. Good to know, thank you.

buy 9 year old mares from foundation rescue, user 9 and sell them at the auction when they are 10 years old

There are lots of ways to make money, but the key is to have at least 3 show horses - spayed mare/gelding for every breeding horse you own.
Things to remember are you want horses with good PTs that can earn money in the levels they top out in. For me, I really like a 10.0 PT or better. This gets me horses that level off in a 7W level, earning lots of points. An easy way for me to get these horses is to breed my B stallions to Red foundations (these are my fancy gened foundations) - they give me the most amount of show foals and ones that do make the cut I use to breed my next generation.
At 10 years of age, a horse can be auctioned for the lifetime payout - meaning a quick chunk of hbs and room in your barn for a new horse. I auction all horses over 10 years of age that have leveled off in a poor showing position.Thanked by 1annismyrph -
