There are lots of ways to make money, but the key is to have at least 3 show horses - spayed mare/gelding for every breeding horse you own.

Things to remember are you want horses with good PTs that can earn money in the levels they top out in. For me, I really like a 10.0 PT or better. This gets me horses that level off in a 7W level, earning lots of points. An easy way for me to get these horses is to breed my B stallions to Red foundations (these are my fancy gened foundations) - they give me the most amount of show foals and ones that do make the cut I use to breed my next generation.

At 10 years of age, a horse can be auctioned for the lifetime payout - meaning a quick chunk of hbs and room in your barn for a new horse. I auction all horses over 10 years of age that have leveled off in a poor showing position.
