What to do , what to do? Need gmt advice.

I have a number of brindles that the color is so pale, for example this one, that you can't even tell they're brindle. what would be an ideal thing to gmt generally, a couple different suggestions would be great as i have some with different genes than this one.

trying to get an appaloosa that looks like a brindle is near impossible for me.

If you take the cream or pearl off one strand it'll darken that base coat and show as stripes or patches. The brindle markings aren't really showing because both coats (primary strand and secondary strand) are pretty much the same shade.

yess, after I'd played with some, I suspected if both strands matched in color they would just look like all one color. If you had to choose a color that's a bit darker (thinking of other horses I want to adjust) what would you choose?

Oh, and on behalf of Fiddler, she asked me what effect would removing champagne do?

I'd go for.black full contrast

Pick one horse at a time to ask about. Each horse takes a different answer.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Removing champagne would also darken the coat and create contrast. Try using the horse search to take a look at non-chimera horses of the color you're thinking of gmting one strand to, and see if you like the color and think it'll provide good contrast. On the first horse, I think if you removed the cream and the bay on the second strand, it would create some black markings without losing the pearl, which could still be valuable and worth keeping on. Unless you mean to change the inheritance of the strands to 100% on the first strand.

Thank you, everyone. I think I am starting to get the hang of this. I hope. I'm going to try your suggestions, if they look good, I'll post them back here so you can see.

Thanks to everyone here who takes the trouble to explain things and on other posts too. I have to thank you all for your patient tutoring, it's finally beginning to make sense to me. I finally produced this! (Is it my imagination or will the hearts only show in the green parts?) I know it's not the horses in this particular thread, but it's the information I need to do this that finally is creeping in.
Thank You Friends ERRORPost edited by OopsDotCom at 2022-06-25 20:23:32Thanked by 1Cavalynn
