Which gene muted her color?

I am in love with this girl just curious which gene caused this coloring so maybe I can breed for it. Thanks -
I think it's the combo of the homozygous W20, Rabicano, and homozygous KP. I know W20 is a white booster, and I'm not super familiar with how it works when homozygous, but I bet the combo of all those is where it comes from. I know homozygous KP does really interesting things, so the fading is probably from that mixed with the white booster.

@WitchwaterAcres thanks I was thinking that too but wanted other opinions too. I have been working on my giant liver chestnut line and kinda switched gears from as dark as possible.

Homozygous kp shows that kind of fade, but there have to be two kit factors as well to show it. In this case she has kit w20 & kit w20. No other genes cause this fade other than two kit genes & two copies of KP.
If you look at this filly’s grandsire on the mom side, hes Hom KP and it shows because he has Kit M & Kit Sabino 2.

Whereas if you look at the grandsire on the sire side, he’s hom KP but only has one Kit gene so it doesn’t show.

Hope that helps!Post edited by bravo52 at 2022-08-08 20:27:41 -
She has a giant KP spot roaning her out. The extensive white factor makes the KP bigger but w20 does not. KP is random so hard to breed for specific spot shapes and sizes.Need to contact me? Read this first.

@Ammit do you still have to have two kit genes for it to show?
