Gray horses look like "old" gray?

I've noticed this during the auction, but also now my horses are doing it.

If i regenerate the image it will go back to the "new" gray, but i wanted to let you know it's happening.
I regenerated this one to get the "new" gray:

We have not touched gray in months so not a clue why that might have shown up.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I've even seen a few who were created recently in the auction with the old gray. It's odd.
I'm going through all mine to regenerate the images if they did this - it seems that about 2/3 of the grays did, irrespective of het or hom gray status. -
I left my pasture undone for now in case this search of gray foundation mares from the pasture can shed any light on why.
When i went through the barns it seems like het gray foundations reverted to the old gray, and then any of foals who inherited gray from a foundie who reverted also inherited the old coloration.

Here are a few from other players' barns based on a search i did for every gray horse older than foal. The foals all appear to come out correctly and these all seem to be foundation horses who have the old gray.

I don't mind regenerating my horses to get them looking right again, but i figured you'd want to know. Now I'm curious why some are reverting to the old color and some aren't. :))
