Max out ability
-
Can a clone use this? can't do the original, he's been bred. Does maxing a foal increase his papers or pt?
-
"Maxing out ability can be preformed on any unbred lined horse you own"
So yes I'd assume a cloned horse could be done? Whether the papers would increase of not would depend on where the horse was in the first place I'd reckon. It's definitely increased the papers on ones I've done, but I knew the higher papers were possiblePost edited by Kintara at 2022-08-15 00:01:01Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
Max Ability gives your horse the maximum possible breeding and PT ability that could be given by that horse's parents. How much of an improvement you see depends on how close to that ability your horse was already.
As for whether you can max a clone, I'm not really sure. I've never tried it or seen anything about it in the forum, so I have no information to give on that front. @Kintara gave a sound reasoning point though.Might be addicted to pixel ponies...

if you try to max out a horse, say, the best of the pasture, it may not improve.. so don't max out your best horses, max out the ones with genetics you really love/want/need who aren't up to snuff, maybe are not passing SBAPost edited by Fiddler at 2022-08-15 06:57:15

thank you all.
Kintara, how do you tell what the parents abilities are? -
I usually know where my stallions are at, as I do a fair bit of comparison testing, I have benchmark stallions I test against so I know where the ones I'm considering keeping are. I lose track a bit in the mid generations though, with SBA the intact fillies are going to at least be about as good as their sire so don't worry about them.
Gen 2 is easy, as long as one parent is an exceptional, I know blue/A is possible, so I've done the max ability on a few red/b and yellow/c gen2's.
Also the max ability tells you if the foal is already at it's max, and won't charge if that's the case.Thanked by 1MackZ -
@kintara, you don't get charged if they're at their max? great information, thanks

Kintara, when you do the sba, who are the foals judged against? Sire, dam, or always sire or always dam or does it depend on the gender of the foal?Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2022-11-23 23:42:44
