So i am doing an experiment, bootstrapping. I have a couple dozen fillies, and am monitoring them, they all have the same sires, but THIS one is head and shoulders above the others in terms of points earned. Should i just spay her and show her? Do people with breeding programs keep mares like this in the mix?
I believe I understand that show-ability is not passed on genetically.. if that's true, there is no good reason not to spay her so she can be a great show horse. am I right?

Personally, I would paper her and only keep her intact as a Bootstrap mare if she's Gold. But if her genes are what you really want in your program, that's also a good reason to keep her intact. As a 2-year-old, there's really no way of knowing how she'll place in future shows, or whether she'll level off in a good spot or not, so it really comes down to what you want from your bootstrapping program.
If you'd like, I could sell you a few Gold mares to help your program.Might be addicted to pixel ponies...
