Changing DNA through lab question
-
I'm currently working on a second generation chimera stallion and was attempting to alter the DP on him. His sire is homozygous for dp however the dam doesn't have dp. My 2g chimera is already heterozygous dp on both strands. Am I not able to make him homozygous for dp because of his dam?
Here is link to the horse I am editing.

Correct ; they get one set of genes from each parent ; if momma doesnt have Dp ; he can't be HOM for it :)

Ok thank you. I wasn't quite sure.

He's very beautiful as is.
