mushroom gene not showing up?

heya,
I'm new-ish to all this (I joined in March 2020 but then I forgot about all of this lol) and I've got no idea how any of this works. I just bought two copies of the Mushroom gene for this horse here but it's not showing up on him? did I do something wrong or am I just stupid? -
Can you link your horse? also sometimes you need to re roll them to get the changes to show up :)

he's linked on the words 'this horse'. I've been regenerating his image and rolling for a new image seed but nothing's showing up, I feel like a dumbdumb lol

That is what mushroom looks like on bay. Here is some more info
"Mushroom is a real homozygous recessive gene, found in the Shetland breed. The Mushroom gene appears to act only on red pigment and desaturates the color leaving a sepia hue to the coat. Manes and tails range from slightly diluted to near pure white. The color is not quite cream, not quite dun, not quite silver."
