Selling Barns
-
i now pay 15% more if i was to pay for a new barn.
does this mean i have to sell the smaller barns 60 stall 90 stall 120 stalls and purchase a 1000 stall barn? what happens to the horses when i sell the barns and buy the larger one ?
i am hoping they hang in limbo till that 1000 stall barn comes into effect.
any help would be much apricated as i have never done this
thank you

good questions. following

When you sell a smaller barn to buy a larger one, all if the horses in those stalls go into your primary barn. Even if your primary doesn't have enough stalls, you won't lose those horses, it will just be overfill until you make more space. (Having your primary barn overfill WILL prevent you from creating more horses. It might also prevent you from breeding more, I can't remember for sure in that point)
You don't HAVE to sell smaller barns to purchase larger ones. It's not required. However the percentage extra that you pay on barn purchases is calculated based on how many non primary stalls you have, so if you do sell off a few smaller barns it should reduce the cost of your large ones. I'm not great at the numbers game so I can't tell you for sure if it makes sense to sell the small ones to save on the large ones, but I will tell you that I find it useful to have several large show barns, but a couple smaller ones (120 or 210 stalls) for other things. I use them to sort foals or as a temporary barn to put pasture horses into for showing. I try to keep one empty so I can put all my horses from a pasture in there, enter them in shows, and then move them all back to pasture easily, without having to sort through to find them again.
The reasoning behind charging more for barns as you gain extra stalls is, I believe, to keep larger barns and more experienced players from gaining an unfair advantage over smaller barns.
Hope that helps! -
There is no limit to the number of barns a player may own. I personally own 48 barns. Several of them are thousand stall barns, the others vary in size.
Once you own more than 10,000 stalls, you can only purchase new barns with real money. Pastures always have to be purchased with real money.
I would recommend buying a larger barn before you consolidate the horses.

Ktarpey gives great advice in their post but this part is not quite right.
Barns allow you to have more show horses, more show horses mean you make more money every day. The more barns you have the more barns you can buy. If we did not limit things it would get to the point where you could buy exponential numbers of barns and have so many horses it breaks your account. The increasing cost of barns helps offset the game resources you are using up and keeps you gaining barns at a steady instead of exponential rate.Need to contact me? Read this first.

Ammit, what are the restrictions when your Primary barn is overfilled? I know one is not being able to create new ones, and it makes sense that breeding would have no place to put the foals (except maybe in pastures), but does it also prevent you from showing?
