I'm trying the free office, but it keeps changing the vertical to the horizontal when I try to create a line graph. I tried rotating the data so what was vertical is now horizontal, and horizontal is now vertical, and it still printed the horse's name across the bottom and the data vertically, same as it did before.

What program do you use, and is it free or does it cost? Googling doesn't help. "free spreadsheet program" translates as "free trial then you pay"

Are you using Apache? I don't use spreadsheets much, so I'm not sure why you're having that problem. Maybe try searching for "open-sourced spreadsheet software" instead of "free"?

I use google sheets, which is convenient if you have a google account already, but otherwise does lack some features of excel. I find the simplicity easier to work with though personally.

I'll try both. All I need is some simple data put into line graphs.

ps. Does Apache ever have a lot of things it wants you to install to get the program. Antivirus, ad blocker, browser. It's tough to get by them all.

Well, Apache seems easier to use, but I still can't get the names vertical and the data horizontal, even if I rotate the data 90 degrees.
