Over Excited Auction Bidding
  • Does anybody else accidentally bid on spelded horses or horses who are 20 +? I try to put filters on, but sometimes I get excited and forget. Then I see a beautiful horse that I assume fits my criteria and place a bid only to realize that I made an oopsie. You'd think I'd learn after doing this once, but it happens more often than I'd like to admit.
  • Heavens, yes. I do it all the time!

  • yes, definitely. I get a real adrenaline rush at the end of the auction, when I have too many horses to keep up with, and lots of people bidding for those horses. Mistakes do get made. Worse, if you paid a lot for a horse you didn't want, somehow it feels wrong to throw it back into the auction knowing you're not going to get what you paid for it. So you're stuck with it!

  • Me too! Sometimes I forget to change the search between looking for breeding stock and show horses and have ended up paying an arm and a leg for 10yr+ with lots of points :)) All part of the auction fun. Totally agree with Fiddler about the excitement at the end if you have a lot of horses you want in bidding wars, but I love the rush!

  • Phew! Good to hear I'm not the only one. I get so embarrassed sometimes. I was thinking of building a new barn for all my accidental senior citizens to spend their golden years.

  • What a fun idea, give them a little pampering after their retirement :))

  • I have a barn labeled "Retirees" for all my oldies, but I buy a couple here and there intentionally. They have great points and make a nice boost until my first couple batches of youngsters can start making some decent points.

  • I did that the other day when I saw chinchillas. I never even bothered to look to see if they were spayed/gelded. I was so happy to see them. I bought several for higher than I would normally purchase horses for and Suprise! They are spayed.

Thats okay, they make good show horses.
  • The two I bought today don't even have any points and they are old biddies... :|
