Just a couple questions...
-
So I've been wondering..
What determines whether a horse can be entered in a Breeder's Club? I wonder this since sometimes I'll have a couple similarly patterned horses, for example two roans. One will register in both the roan club and it's color club, but the other will only register in the roan club. I've also seen this happen with the crème club. It seems to be most common with chestnuts.
Next, what are the Kit, PAX3+, V, and I genes?Post edited by Empire Acres at 2015-06-02 15:35:52 -
There is a few weird rules, for instance red duns can't go in chestnut because they have a dilution, but chestnuts that carry silver can go in the silver club as well as the chestnut club. For the most part if the colour is in their colour name they can go in that club. So a blue (black) roan can't go in the black club but i think a smokey black (carries cream) can

KIT is where some of the pattern genes reside, so tobiano, roan, white and sabino. Means they can only have two KIT genes, like one roan and one tobiano etc.
PAX3 is where one of the splash genes live, can't remember which one, maybe splash2. It shows up as a weird letter combination though instead of S2.
V is for varnish, horses that have Lp (appy) can show this -
And I is the fantasy Ice gene that is in the game but not real life. There are several variations of Ice. Here is Ice 1, the most common of them.

Kintara is correct, Pax3+ is splash 2. The dominant allele is written PAX3C70Y, with the C7OY as a superscript.
Also, horses can be entered in no more than 4 breeders clubs so a Silver Black Splash Tobiano Rabicano could be entered in four of those clubs, but not all five, and if it is entered in the club for its era, it can only be in three of the five color clubs. -
Thanks guys. I think that kinda clears it up. :)
