I wanted to put together a post for the Gift Exchange, for anyone that is looking to buy or breed certain horses. The following are programs I have to offer. I may sell, breed, or pull straws/eggs from any of the following.

Since June 2020, Cheshire Farms has specialized in Dun Factor Appaloosa Horses. Over the last two years we have meticulously added a number of genes to improve the expression of Dun Factor, as well as Appaloosa Pattern. Many of our horses will be HOM for Dun Factor, DP, and STY. And at least HET for LP, Pattern, and ASR1. Most of our stock is HOM for Recessive Varnish, and will maintain their color and pattern longer as they age.


While our primary program is the Dun Factor Program, we have a number of other smaller programs you can choose from. All horses in these programs should have be tested and passed Strict Breeding Advice. Some have been comparison tested, and will specify in their notes.

Special Notes: Most of the horses in this program are homozygous for recessive varnish. This means that as they get older they will hold onto their color longer.
