What gene has to be changed?
-
How do I change this horse to a bay?
Black: E/E Bay(Agouti): A/A Cream: Prl/Prl Dun: D/- Sooty: Sty/Sty Dense Pheomelanin: -/DP Pangare: p/p -
Remove at least one pearl, you would get a Bay Pearl Dun
Remove one pearl, one dun, you would get Bay Pearl
Remove both pearl, one dun, you would get Bay
Hope this helps!Thanked by 1OopsDotCom -
This horse may be listed as Brown because of all the darkening genes.
-
I'd like to keep the hom pearl if possible, can that be done? And removing the EE doesn't make it Bay?
-
Bay has to have at least one E and one A. E creates the black pigment and A restricts it to the legs, which makes a Bay. The other genes like Dun and hom Pearl are making it not a Bay.
-
In other words it's going to take several gmt's to get what I want?
-
What about this one, it needs an E? does it need anything else?

One E would make that horse a buckskin pearl. Take a look at this page. I've pretty much finished all of the main base coats, it's just the white markings part I'm still working on:

Wow that's pretty complicated.

If you just want a plain bay buy a plain bay. That horse has to many nice genes to just edit them out. It would be kind of a waste when bays are a dime a dozen.Need to contact me? Read this first.
