this is about pixels, but still

I am a premium member of HAJ and I have been very careful to not overspend real money, truth be told, I have never played any games on line and certainly didn't pay for anything like that ever.
So what I have been doing; each month, in addition to my monthly fee, I buy one small thing for me, and one for someone else (to get more HBs). (like a small pasture or one inexpensive gene)
This arrangement has worked for me most of the time that I have been a member (joined the end of February, 2022) but this month, I have gone off the rails. It all started with that Belton Gene. I waited and waited for the Mars horse to show up. I was so excited, what a beautiful color..
Fiddlers Big Red
and of course, I had to make him BETTER, so I added a DP and another Belton gene. Then carefully (still made too many mistakes), I added Belton genes to the best tobiano mares I could find (how come there are no Exceptionally Perfect tobianos?) and then of course, I needed a pasture for them.... So I bought a pasture (first rolling sale, I nabbed one)
And I populated that pasture with all my nicer tobiano mares plus the ones I had beltonized.
But, think of the future, I needed more mares.
Fiddlers Pulchinella
I finally got a red 10.4 filly, and I stumbled through making her a Belton mare, you know, for the future? (January!)
and then Ammit keeps changing up the genes for sale, with that Sooty Plus Gene sticking up like a red flag, and then today, counting the hours, I did it. OMG I spent an unprecedented $20 MORE on this mare to make her my very first Sooty + + mare. and now all I can think about is, she needs another DP..
Is there hope for me?
Should I actually breed her, or would it be better to just harvest eggs from her, now that she's worth more than my house (if my house was purchased with HBs)
thanks for listening. -
Hahaha welcome to the dark side...........now you know your hooked on the pixel ponies >:)

Definitely harvest eggs(:

You are most definitely caught! It is all part of Ammit's cunning plan, and we happily go along with it. This is the only game that I have every spent real money on, and like you, I try to stay within a budget - but oh the temptation! :D
You have a lovely herd of horses, I hope they make great foals for you. :) -
Last February I was in bed miserable with Covid and I got my tax refund and, well, let's just say I still to this day have not added up how much I spent :))
I NEVER spend money on games, but I do quite regularly here LOLStarstruck2 on Bluegrass and Forest

Is this what you're looking for? I don't know what to look for for belton genes.

I can't find any for sale, or breeding, I don't know what to look for.Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2023-03-22 13:39:01 -
Harvest eggs from your most heavily modded mares. Pull one egg every five days, and a flush before the end of the month. Doing that will give you way more foals to add those genes in to your lines. Plus you can always breed out to another stallion that way.Post edited by bluchrystals at 2023-03-22 14:08:44

@Fiddler ; the Shadow of Mars is an exceptional Producer , as are the XP Roan Tobiano and XP Tobiano, so there are a couple of Herd Helpers :)
-
I understand totally Fiddler! I spend my HBs and then I use money to buy something for someone else to replenish those HBs!
I also caved and got DPF2 haha!Thanked by 1Fiddler -
I have a strict NO REAL MONEY ON GAMES policy for myself.....until I had been playing this one for a while, and tried a premium membership. And now I'm hooked.Thanked by 1Fiddler

You're not alone...
-
I have never spent real money on a game….except this one! Have been playing for several years and until recently I only spent real money a few times for a pasture or gene, but last month I was about to lose my only watercolor foundation stud and it was cheaper to clone him than try to make a new foundation from the gene sale, so I got a premium upgrade. I was originally going to cancel it after cloning but….. I think I’ll keep it lol.Thanked by 1Fiddler

Lol same here fiddler! Never paying in game for anything but haj... once I spent close to $200.... LOL
I love PayPal pay in 4 :)) :)) -
I unfortunately crossed over to the dark side, darn it Ammit! So its like, okay, i will buy one barn or pasture each month. but nooooo, 2 or 4 barns later, i stll want more!
i keep wondering, what my farm would look like if this was real ponies, and yes i could easily have 10k horses in real lifeThanked by 1annismyrph -
@ambervalleyarabians, real life is much more restrictive, you only have so much room for horses and hay, so much money for farriers, and so much time to devote to your horses...
-
but to dream, right? yeah I know what its like to have a large herd. I had 26 mares, with foals and a stud. yes thats a lot of work!Thanked by 1Fiddler
