Since you're already willing to spend some real money, you could offer to buy genes, barns, and/or pastures for other players for HBs. Offer a fixed exchange rate of maybe 150k HBs per RL dollar or so. And decide on a cap of how much real money you're willing to spend and when you're planning on placing the order. Make a post on the forum with those details. If you fill up your cart with goodies for lots of people, you can get more bonus GMTs than you probably would just buying for yourself. You also get more game money for your real money that way than buying HBs outright in the store.

Something I've done when I'm desperate for HBs when there's a limited time offer on genes in the lab or something is sell all of my show horses and start over. That would probably be seen as not a good move by most though, certainly isn't in the long run but might be worth considering in the short term if there's no other way.

I agree that buying genes for other users is the quickest way to get cash. You can also consider auctioning some show ponies age 10 and over for the lifetime payout.

Just my two cents though, I wouldn't break myself trying to offer straws for GE at this point. It's a lovely thought, but a lot of people have completed most if not all of their shopping by this point. It might be more practical and less stressful to aim to have him completed in time for the summer exchange

I agree with everything here. Most people are done or almost done shopping for their giftee at this point. The only thing I would add is that there are plenty of people who would pay 150k hb per $1 on here, including myself, so you shouldn't have any problem getting the hbs if you do decide to go that route.
