Exceptional Shows with low PT's?
-

My exceptional shows are being created with some PT's under 10.4, all the way down to 10.0
Is this correct, and why? Shouldn't exceptionals be higher?Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2022-12-30 19:09:48 -
No, it says "Can train Higher than normal creates" ; a "normal" create can PT anywhere from 0.0 to 9.9 ( for a perfect foundation ), so anything over 9.9 is exceptional :)Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

"Exceptionally Perfect" creates are the only ones that are always 10.4 PT. "Exceptional Show Horses" can be anywhere in the range of 10.0 - 10.4. At least, that's my understanding from what I've seen.

Ok, thanks. That makes sensePost edited by OopsDotCom at 2022-12-31 23:03:37

And really low pt on exceptional producers is okay?
-
Exceptional producers might have a terrible PT. They aren't guaranteed any particular showing ability at all, but their offspring should be good.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Gotcha. Thank you.
Are exceptionally perfect horses excellent producers as well as excellent shows?Post edited by OopsDotCom at 2022-12-31 23:23:56 -
Yep, exceptionally perfect are exceptional at both. :)Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Thanks!
Is it usual for an exc perfect x exc perfect breeding to get foals that score lower than both their parents in PT and Papers? -
It's possible. Any horse can produce offspring that are worse than them as well as better than them, when paired with another horse of comparable ability.Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Is this usual for an exceptionally perfect to have low DPO at its age? Is this one I should cull?

Look at his show records. He is very consistent and makes the same show score each week. He is gaining 9 points a week which means he isn't staying in one class long enough to make good money before he is into the next class and finishing, potentially, lower down. He is doing fine, don't sell him, keep the faith!Thanked by 1OopsDotCom

Why do her scores always come in pairs like 139 139 147 147 156 156?

Ahhh. Thank you.
