I've looked through the horse search, and can't quite decide what the best/most interesting base colors for platinum are. The only other license I have is mushroom, and so many of the searchable horses have every licensed gene under the sun.

To me this is *chef kiss* But I may be biased. :D

But to me it works/looks best with single cream bases (buckskin, palomino), Pearls or Sooty brown.

I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of it with chocolate though like one of my foundie mares:

I agree with @SeahorseFarms, it makes the biggest impact on het cream horses because cream dilutes reds to yellows and then the platinum desaturates the yellows, so that's when platinum shows the most and you get the most distinctive looks from it.

I like chocolate palomino as the base coat quite a bit. The dapples are beautiful albeit hard to see on this base.

I just bought platinum for myself this Christmas! It's going to take a while to get through my ranks, but I got it to (hopefully) solve a problem of mine.

I breed for green and blue eyes on black based horses (grullos, blue roans and silver blacks). In order to do this, I need one copy of Cr or Prl on a horse, but that often turns my silver horses a yellow tone. I'm hoping with platinum, I can cool out that yellow color and keep my silvers looking sharp while still being able to get their eyes the color I want! Excited to see how it turns out!

But i find it very nice on chestnuts too! For me its bay/buckskins now but i also made sure that my stud can throw ee (chestnut) horses.
