If I fused this mare to another of my foundations, will all of her genetics be on the secondary set, even if I were to gmt her before doing so?

Off topic question, but does platinum work on bay based horses or just red?

  • My understanding of merging is that one horse's genetics are on one set, while the other horse's genetics are on the other set. So whichever horse you merged her with would make up all the genetics on the second set. This mare's genes wouldn't be duplicated onto both sets.

I've never played around with platinum, so can't help you out with that question, sorry!

  • To the first question. Yes! Her exact set of genes will become the 2nd set creating a chimera.

Platinum does work on bay coats! The red pigment on the torso will get diluted but works best ( in my opinion) on red coats, especially pretty on chocolate palomino coats.
  • Thank y'all!
