while we're on the subject, I purchased a 1% boost by mistake :-((

so i am going to use it on a horse, but I was wondering if anyone could advise how I should use it. Should I use it on a horse that I wish were better, or should i use it on one that is already good, to make it VERY good? would it be good for someone who didn't pass SBA?

Well, this was just my plan, but I won a 1% boost in a contest a while back and couldn't figure what to do with it because I don't even breed exceptional stock normally. I was thinking maybe put it on a horse to sell but then I thought I'll save it for my bootstrap herd. I had bought a cap stallion and I have a few colts out of him that are AGA so I thought when he's about to age out, I'll take one of his young AGA colts and boost him and he'll be my new main bootstrap stud. Plus my bootstrap herd is all era 0 so no having to feel bad about dropping an era by boosting. :)

So, say a horse has a PT of 13, how much higher might it go with a 1% boost?

I don't think PT goes up with boosting. I think it improves only breeding ability.

Correct. Breeding and PT are still totally different numbers. :)

So perhaps the papers designation would not change either, it would just improve the quality of offspring ?

There is only a 10% chance that a 1% boost will change the paper level.
