A brand is just that...a brand. :) Like cowboys brand cattle and horses? (It's called a tattoo in other areas of the game though.)

Here's one of my horses showing my stable brand just below his withers: http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=3103758 Brands aka tattoos are for level three upgrades and higher.

You need to be a level four or five upgrade to change your stable image.

Ah...one of the level descriptions still says brand, I figured it meant tattoo. What level do the tattoos kick in?
