How did you manage to get 1000 points on it?

you click the herd helper in the letter ; then you click the "show" horse tag in the letter; then you create both at the same time

I'm not sure how you do both at the same time. Do you mean one then the other? Or which one first?

What's your highest bid?

The first horse you create after following the "claim your showhorse" link will have the 1000 point no matter which herd helper you use. So if you have the new HH active already you can get both as Sharayah did.
