Used to be, the auction stopped exactly on the hour. When it was 8pm on the computer, it was done.
Now, it says there is one minute left and there are actually 2 minutes left. After it says one minute left for a full minute, then it says less than 1 minute for another minute. This is a bit confusing to me

It is also hard to remember each auction ending when you are bidding on more than one horse ; keeping track of all the different times is difficult ><

I just checked, for me the game time is showing as 2 minutes behind my irl time, so it would switch to the hour at XX:02.

Not sure why but just wanted to confirm it isn't specific to you (incase that helps)

But as someone who was rarely home at the previous auction end time, it is now easier and more fair for me. I just use the bid watcher to keep an eye on horses I bid on.

You could always just bid what you think the horse is really worth. (or rather how much you would want to pay) instead as of going back and forth to see who can get it the cheapest (which is always nice). Sellers have to option now have a reserve if they choose. Some sort or proxy would be cool to have, but that prolly would take some work(or not possible). Like Humboldt said, the system now gives everyone a chance now to get bids in. :)

This change happened weeks and weeks ago. It can't be impacting you very much if you only just noticed.

This is the vastly more fair way to run the auction. It is not just your time zone where people live. ;) Also horses sell for higher prices now and there is far more usability to the auction since you can use it for forum auctions now. You'll just have to get used to it since it is better for the majority of players.

I'm talking specifically about the minutes discrepancy. I noticed it right away when i lost auctions but i didn't analyze it until this week

1 minute left means there are between 60 and 120 seconds. Less than one minute means it takes ANOTHER minute to finish. 59 seconds or less.
