Should I sell out of Era 14 to focus on 15?
-
About a month into Era 14, I started to learn about Era breeding and figured even though I was "late", I'd give it a try.
I had also bought some special fancy fantasy genes, and didn't realize they didn't count toward the era, since they DO count toward the futurity. So much of my era 14 lines don't count toward the leaderboard because they are fantasy.
Given barn space limits, I'm considering rolling the "special color" horses into my non-era lines, and culling down hard on era 14 foundations. If they're close to 10, I can spay them and wait, but none of these started with any points, so they aren't going to be super valuable show horses.
I'll keep some of the non-fantasy era 14 breeders, but not make it a focus.
Mostly, I'm hoping to hear opinions if I'm missing something, or would be shooting myself in the foot. I'll have to make barn space for Era 15 somehow before June. -
yeah, i am letting go of some of my less desirable 14s too. I'm a beginner though, so my posting isn't to give you advice, but to also seek it.

Nothing wrong with starting fresh for 15 now that you know how the system works better. It is a super fun challenge to go all in on a brand-new era and start right at the beginning with everyone else. Plus all the fancy new herd helpers in June and July are of normal quality so you can use them for era 15.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

If you can possibly make room for both, I would do that. Maybe cut out the era 14 foundations at this point and continue with your best 2Gs. Keep just the best of your best era 14s to make room for era 15 foundations. I'm still breeding my era 11 horses. Even though I wasn't very efficient with them at the start, they started doing pretty well on the leaderboards a few months ago. I intend to keep them going at least until era 11 has come and gone as a primary era. I figure since each era will get to be the primary era for a full six months, even if you started the era line late, it'll still be able to peak towards the end of the time that the era is a primary era, so you're not entirely missing out.Thanked by 1lecobb8

@cavalyn why is 10 the primary era?
-
@Fiddler Because it first came out two years ago and lines started then are just hitting their peak ability now. At the next era change at the end of this month, era 11 will become the primary era and it will be until the next era change this December.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
