A couple newbie questions.
  • Hello everyone! I'm new to this game, and am already in love with the genetics side of things.

I have a couple questions that I haven't found the answers to-I promise I have searched through the forums! So, forgive me if these are repeats.

First, I'm eyeing the first level upgrade, just to grab a few more bucks each week to build up my show string. My question is this: if i upgrade to level one for 6 months, but in another month decide to upgrade again, does the RL money I paid for the first upgrade then go towards the second upgrade? Or am I paying full price whenever I upgrade to the next level, no matter how much is left on the previous upgrade?

Second question is about testing. When I created my first horse, I didn't really know what I was doing, so I ran her through all of the tests available to me as a basic player. I see now that was a mistake because I can't find out how to retest her for consistency and the like, once she has shown a few times. I bought several other horses ("rescues") and I can't test any of them in the SAT, nor run them through the mare/gelding advice. I can consistency test the horses that haven't been tested there, so that's fine. Oh, and I did see in other posts where the "no testing" was activated, so I did try that. It wasn't on for any of the horses, though I turned in on and off again just to sort of reset things. No luck. So the end-all question is, can I no retest horses after they have shown a while/retest horses I have purchased? I guess another question here would be, since it seems the purchased horses have already been tested, is there somewhere on their pages where I'm missing where the results of the tests are listed?

Third question...well, I forgot it when I remembered to ask about testing :( I'm sure it will come to me later and I'll add it on here.

I'm having fun trying my hand with the "rescue" horses and have lucked out with a couple that are already performance tested, as well as some color combinations I see a future for. I hope after a few weeks to have a nice string of horses to help with income so that I can try my hand at breeding in the next season.

Also, even though I asked specific questions, any and all advice is welcome, and thank you all in advance for your input.
  • Can you please post the horse for the second question please? I had something like that similar with one of my horses.

  • Honestly, it's all of them, minus the one mare I created and tested myself ((here), but here are a couple, just to show. The mare I tested myself, I tested her too early on and got a very generic...and unhelpful...answer, and so would like to retest her.

(click) This mare doesn't show up in mare testing or in the SAT.
(click) This stud doesn't show up for advice or SAT, either.

  • Im not sure about the upgrade question you will need a mod or Ammit to answer that. However I can answer your other questions :) Ok so the consistency test can only be run on a horse one time and the results will show at the bottom of the horses page. The results of the consistency test are just to show how consistent or inconstant a horse will be overall in its life, they do not change or depend on a horses show records/breeding history. So the consistency test can be run on a horse as soon as its born. If you can't run your horses through GA or MA then that means they have already been run through by their previous owner. They can only be run through each of those tests once and will be automatically gelded/spayed or left intact depending on the results. So If they are intact then you can assume they passed. The SAT is similar except for the fact that you can choose whether they are automatically gelded/spayed or not. However if the owner chooses not to geld/spay automatically and the test results suggest that the horse should be gelded/spayed then it will show on the horses page until they are gelded/spayed. Hope that makes sense

  • Can you please place your horses up for $1 and I will try to test them and figure it out? Don't worry I will send them back lol.
  • That's good to know, Merry Mount, thank you for letting me know!
  • Abbey, it's against the rules to test horses for other players. And putting a horse up for sale that cheap is a good way to lose it.

Hleklc, they don't show up 'cause they are done. :)

  • Oh ya sorry about that @Gae4ce just trying to help out sorry
  • If you have purchased 6 months of a Level 1 upgrade and after a few months decide that you want to upgrade farther, the higher upgrade will cost the full amount and will be activated. What's left of the Level 1 upgrade will be inactivated and remain as part of your stable. This can act as a backup in case for any reason your higher level runs out and you forget to renew it or you can't afford it for a bit. If you have upgraded to a Level 5 where the monthly fee is automatically applied through paypal, and you credit card needs it's expiration date updated and you forget to do it, a lower level account can be a life-saver until you can fix things up on your paypal account.

You can, if you choose, sell a currently inactive lower level upgrade for investment vouchers from the IV Manager. The page will let you know how many IV's what's left of the upgrade will bring.

The only test that can be redone, usually, is mare testing after she's had more than the original required 3 foals. However, if you breed two horses and get a foal that tests inconsistent, you can color test it, purchase a Genetic Modification token (for real cash), take it to the GMT lab and make it perfectly consistent. Then you will be able able to redo both the consistency test and the Performance Test, since that score is reduced by inconsistency.

  • Any horse that you get from the foundation rescue is a perfect foundation: 9.9 PT, 100% foundation breeding ability, and perfectly consistent, so don't worry about not being able to test them.

The only one of the basic tests that lists the results on the horse's page is consistency for which I believe there are 3 possible results: Consistent (from perfectly consistent to +/-2), Inconsistent, and Very Inconsistent. (I'm not sure where the dividing line for inconsistent/ very inconsistent is and the latter is rarely seen anymore so it doesn't really matter.)

If a horse has not been though MA/GA it will say "(Untested)" after the gender like this horse: http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=2045519. Any intact horse that is not labeled as untested has already passed.

A horse that has been though SAT with the automatic geld/spay turned off will say "(Showing Prospect)" after the gender, if the test determines that its training ability is much higher than its breeding ability, like this horse: http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=3386250 (The only reason to leave such a horse intact is for players with level 4 or 5 upgrades who use embryo transfer and don't want to use good mares as the surrogates.)

  • Sandy Creek, Lake Ondowa, thank you for covering the bases. I was sneaking on in class and didn't dare get into the needed detail. :)
  • Thank you very much, everyone!
