    I just noticed I don't see numbers next to the gene names on my owned license list on my homepage anymore. Is that supposed to have gone away?

    Ah, never mind. I just checked the change log:

    Gene license counts were added to home pages to help add clarity to the gift exchange but I found it only caused confusion with people thinking they have "extra" licenses they could give away. It has been returned to the prior state where it only shows you if you do or do not have a license for the gene. The gift exchange has been updated with a very loud call to attention box to make sure people actually read the warning that they will be losing the gene. Hopefully, this helps clarify the process some. :)

    But, does the game still keep track of multiple license copies, even though we can't see how many we have? Or do we not get multiple copies anymore for buying a gene more than once when we already have the license?

    Nothing has changed about how they work. You just no longer see the number just like how it used to be.

    How do we know if we can give away a license with a gift horse and still have at least one left?

    @OopsDotCom We can just keep track ourselves, but I think the point is we're not supposed to know because we're not supposed to be thinking of it as extra licenses to give away. The idea is we're supposed to purchase a license and then give it away with the horse, not try to get a foundation or gift an old foundation just to give a license without having to pay for it now.

    Correct. You don't have any to give away not really. And the GE now very loudly screams at you if you are giving away your only copy. Thinking you have extras to give away is exactly the confusion point we are working to clear up. Yes with some shenanigans you could give away a license from the past but the gift exchange was never intended for you to be doing those kinds of shenanigans with. :)

    The license transfer was always there so you could buy a bunch of limited genes on a new foundation and gift it in one go. Never was the intention for you to transfer old licenses.
