I tried to run a search for only lined stallions under 10 for sale and came up with horses as cheap as just 2,200 and as expensive as 250,000. And most of the more expensive ones did not have fantasy genes and were lesser quality. (i.e. “B”s and “C”s while all my colts are “A”s)

Stud fees are all over the place. We used to be able to price them based on their genes and try to get our investment back. But with the launch of futurities, it's hard see any actual profit in breeding the stallions. I think it matters more how you market them. The economy is pretty strong since this is a closed server now, so the money is there for people to pay higher stud fees. But the game isn't really designed to help you find those studs. I've had to break up my breeding into multiple forum posts with headings that will tell people more specific information.
