Double asterisk with Star and Gold breeders.

This is new for me and I don't understand the purpose. I saw that there is now a "backwards breeding" trend and thought it might be related. Can someone please explain? :)Craven Hill - 86081

It is fairly new. Golds and stars now have asterisk to show breeding ability levels within the gold and star paper levels. ***star/golds are better than **star/golds are better than *star/golds. It has nothing to do with backward breeding, which is just a fun extra category for players who like to see how low a PT score they can get.

OK. That was my initial thought until I saw the backwards breeding thing. Thank you! :DCraven Hill - 86081

Also , you can Only get *** (Triple Stars / Golds) with Breeding Boosts; the highest you can get "naturally" is Double Stars

How are so many untested mares and stallions getting two stars though. I noticed that yesterday when trying to buy a higher PT stallion to breed some high PT show babies. The first 2 I bought failed SBA and got snipped. Also, when I went to do a search for Gold mares, all were untested and still **. Just curious. :)Craven Hill - 86081

So , in my case I stop testing SBA gen 4 ; but I do keep testing BA, once you get past gen10 thou from what i understand alot stop testing becuase of the sheer failure rate. I know when I breed my gen9 pastures i get 1 pass per about 15 fails. Its an OUCH number of fails ><

If you want to get high pt mares to breed, if you don't test them, you'll get a lot more.
And as others have said, the higher the pt and paprrs of a horse, the less likely that they will pass breeding inspection
There's something called bootstrapping which involves breeding mares to their sires and not testing. It's a quick way to get high pointed horses. So some people would get those mares you tested and use them for breeding without ever testing themPost edited by Fiddler at 2023-09-21 18:42:55 -
Sounds like a reasonable strategy. I do remember that getting intact foals definitely got harder the higher the generation. It never bothered me though as it kept my barns full of show ponies. :))Post edited by GalwayStallions at 2023-09-21 19:02:24Craven Hill - 86081
